A multi-vehicle accident on a road in downtown Los Angeles resulted in significant property damage and at least one critically injured person.

The scary auto accident occurred around 6:46 a.m. on East Washington Boulevard, just south of the 10 Freeway (Interstate 10), in downtown Los Angeles, California. Although very few details about the car crash have been released to the public at this time, what is known is that the cement truck collided with at least two other motor vehicles on the roadway. The force of impact caused the truck to flip over, resulting in a significant amount of cement spilling all over the road.

Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department crews rushed to the accident scene and saw the aftermath of the collision. Each of the three vehicles had just one occupant and each occupant suffered injuries in the multi-vehicle crash. The person who sustained the most serious injuries was the driver of the cement truck, who required transport to a local hospital and was later hospitalized with what were described as “critical injuries.”

The drivers of the other vehicles involved in the collision suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One of the injured motorists went to an area hospital for medical treatment, while the other injured motorists did not require emergency medical treatment at the hospital.

While the injured motorists were being taken care of by medical responders, the LA Department of Transportation closed down several lanes on the street and a Los Angeles street maintenance crew worked quickly to clean up the cement from the roadway.

Depending on the exact circumstances of the auto accident, it is possible that one, two, or maybe even all three of the injured motorists could be subject to personal injury lawsuits. That’s because anyone who acts negligently while operating a motor vehicle on a Los Angeles road can potentially be held liable for damages stemming from a car accident. For further information, read the DailyNews.com article, “Cement Truck Driver Critical after Three-Vehicle Crash.”
